An Open Invitation to Support the Homeschool Misfit Awards!

It's almost that time again and I'm hoping to make this year's awards even better.  The following is a letter I've sent to a couple of vendors (tweaked a bit since hitting send) and I'd love for you to share it with anyone you'd like to see sponsor these awards!  There are 11 categories and I think it'd be great fun to offer a prize for each. Everyone likes getting presents, receiving one for winning a misfit award just seems...well...celebratory! Looking forward to having a blast with my fellow misfits again soon! Now on to my open invitation...

New Button Coming Soon!

Last year, several other homeschool bloggers and I were talking about how we didn't feel as though we quite fit into the general categories of various other homeschool blog awards. Realizing there were other "misfits" out there, I began The Homeschool Misfit Awards as a way to laugh and poke fun at ourselves. The response was better than expected and I've been surprised at how many people have asked if I will make it an annual thing. I'm most willing to oblige and I'd love to make this year's awards even bigger and better. This includes new buttons, a better voting form, and prizes!

We had no prizes the first year, but it seemed like a fun idea to add a little extra bling to the awards. This will generate more interest for the awards themselves, and also for those sponsoring them! Currently, I have a couple of prizes donated but I'd love to have at least one per category. If you're not afraid to be associated with us misfits, I'd love to promote your product right along with the Misfit Awards. Although I am a Christian homeschooler (pastor's wife in fact), the awards are open to all homeschool bloggers, Christian or secular. I have found that my secular homeschooling friends sometimes feel like misfits themselves in the world of Christian homeschoolers and thought this a great way to bring us together. This would be a great opportunity to create new fans out of those who self identify as misfits in the homeschool world, while showing your sense of humor.

What are my stats, you ask? This blog currently has 585 subscribers via either Feedburner or Google Friend Connect. There are 729 followers on Twitter (NotSoSuperwoman) and 165 on my fairly new Facebook fan page.Who knows what kind of stats the nominated blogs will have, but we'll all have a lot of fun and you'll get props for supporting us!

If this sounds good to you and you'd like to take part in sponsoring The Homeschool Misfit Awards, please email me at NotSoSuperwoman (at) gmail (dot) com.. I will contact the winner after the voting ends, collect their info, and send it to you for delivery. Hope we can work together to provide fun and crazy homeschool awards to the homeschool community. We're all a little NotSoSuper, we may as well embrace it!
