If you remember from my previous instant potatoes review, I've never really been a fan of mashed potatoes from a box. My oldest daughter, however, loves them. After convincing me to try the Betty Crocker, I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and taste and have added instant mashed potatoes to our dinner routine.
We received one box to try and we had to feed a large amount of mashed potatoes loving people. A friend had given us a large box of another brand. I decided to prepare both, in separate pots and we had an impromptu and completely unofficial taste test. Most decided they preferred the plain taste to the loaded. My daughter and I liked the loaded flavor. She thought it tasted very "bacony" while I tasted the cheesiness. When it came to texture though, there was no contest. The Betty Crocker kicked butt in consistency and being the closest to homemade.
