Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Welcome to the party!  This is my first time participating in the Ultimate Blog Party and I am super excited.  Join me for some crazy dancing, chocolate covered strawberries, lattes all around, and a GREAT music giveaway!

Who am I?  I'm a homeschooling mom of seven (ages 9-20) who's been doing this for quite a long time and hopes to share my experience with other homeschoolers.  I also review homeschool products here, as well as those of more general interest and BOOKS.  My bibliophile tendencies and my new Nook have inspired me to join lots of reading challenges this year and I'm loving it.

I'm one who never feels like I quite fit in any crowd. I admit to being weird, odd, strange, goofy, snarky, silly and strange.  I'm a homeschooler who prefers purple suede boots to denim jumpers, a pastor's wife who enjoys pop culture, a mom who loves to game and stay up late and owns several sets of dice.  I'm a "peculiar people" and that's exactly why I started The Homeschool Misfits Awards, a crazy contest for those homeschoolers who proudly admit to being misfits.  We had a great time with these last October and I look forward to their return in the fall!

latte art Pictures, Images and PhotosI dream of being an author one day and, after several first drafts during National Novel Writing Month, have finally committed to working on one and hopefully making it fit for...something.  Yet I also want to homeschool, blog, review, work with teen ministry, work with women's ministry, go to cons, read, play, and LIVE!  There are so many opportunities in life and I have so many interests that I added the More to this blog's title.  Who knows what you'll find here any given day but More pretty much covers it all!

I hope you'll hang out here for a little bit and see if it's a place you'd like to party throughout the year.  There are a few categories with a couple links each, so find one you're interested in and let me know what you think.  Be sure to leave a comment so I can come by and visit your party too, I'd love to make new friends!  Not partying?  Click on the Blog Party banner at the top of this post and see how you can participate.

WAIT, Don't Go Yet!  What's a party without great music?  I have a giveaway running right now for an autographed copy of Beautiful Tuesday's debut album!  The drummer just so happens to be a homeschool graduate (and my son!) but I'm not biased at all when I say this is a not-to-be-missed giveaway! ;-)  Click on over, watch the music video, and enter the giveaway!  It's a party favor!

Hey Lori: I didn't know you got a nook and that Glenn can dance and repair airplanes. Oh the things we learn on the internet. I'm partying with you, but I promise I won't dance like him.

I LOL when I read the title of your blog. If we were all being honost we'd all admit we aren't supermoms. Thanks for the tour of your blog--glad I clicked over from the UBP.

Hello! Love your quirky blog! I'm a misfit homeschooling mom that has tried it all over the years. Like you, I finally accepted that I'm an unschooler at heart that's a curriculum junkie.

Hello from another "misfit" homeschooling mom!! My #1 reason to homeschool was because I am NOT a morning person LOL. And it fits with my husband's crazy work schedule so we can actually have family time sometimes. Great blog.

Hi! Just found your blog from the UBP11, and I love it! I homeschooled my oldest daughter for 3 years, got serious burn-out AND had a baby Christmas before last. So, I sent both my oldest and middle daughter to public school this year. Oldest is thriving, but the other...not so much. So back to homeschooling I go. I'll be teaching her 1st grade next year. I couldn't believe it when I read your method of teaching...sounds so much like what I want to do with my 6yr old! We just discovered lapbooking, and my girls love it!

Anyway, I would love to discuss all of this with you sometime. You can find me at:
