1. Do you like my squishy face? Yeah, me neither.
2.I have crazy friends. This should not surprise you. Captain Tanner attempts to hold up the ladies but is in serious danger of being caned.
3. I need to learn not to make the squishy face whenever a camera is pointed my direction. Anyway, this is the gang. My peeps. The crazy fools who admit to being my friends. My fellow geeks. I adore them.
And I want that table.
And I want that table.
4.I think we're looking at our friend's adorable kid. No squishy face. Yay me.
5. My dapper husband. I think he's kinda cute in his steampunk threads. And he got honorable mention in the costume contest for his Time Traveling Hazmat Specialist garb. Go honey.
6. These people were awesome. We dubbed them Steampunk Ken and Barbie.
7. Don't they look all dark and lovely? The woman on the left is author Leanna Renee Hieber and she gave a very enjoyable and lively talk on the art of the fan in the Victorian era.
Eye contact, ladies, eye contact.
8. On Saturday we attended a high tea and had a blast. The bunny purse met the the cheetah and eventually, they both became acquainted with the shrunken head.
Yeah, don't ask. Just believe that it was fun.
9. It was all about the atmosphere.
10. And the clever conversation.
11. And then there was geek church. We were able to host a Christian Worship Service on Sunday morning. Despite mix ups and room swaps, we had a good morning together worshiping in costume. A couple of friends from my writer's group joined us as well, which we loved.
12. My husband shared how Jesus hung out with those society would have considered to be misfits, those out of the mainstream. Many who self identify as geeks consider themselves less mainstream. We're Christians who don't fit in the mainstream of Christianity. I don't think we fit in the mainstream of anything. But we fit with Jesus.
13. Look, no squishy face! I actually like this photo. Amazing, I know.
Great weekend. Great time away with friends.
And an epic time was had by all.
