"A long time ago, we used to be friends but I haven't thought of you lately at all..."

-Veronica Mars Theme
I used to participate regularly in Thursday Thirteen over on my personal blog. Now that I am trying to integrate the personal and the review life, I thought it might be a good time to jump in and join the Thursday Thirteen group again. Usually I would choose a theme and write or list thirteen things that went along with it, but for today I think my only theme shall be the randomness of life and I shall ramble on thirteen times!
1. A couple of weeks ago, I wore two different black boots out to shopping and lunch with friends. One was pointy toed, one squared. There was about a 3/4 inch difference in the heel. I didn't notice until we had gone to lunch and then shoe shopping. Yes, I even tried on shoes and never noticed until in the bathroom at Target, when I glanced down and realized my mistake. The laughter of my friend and I could be heard throughout the store. (and I never had time to blog about this craziness!)
2. Last week, I thought about completely revamping my school schedule and curriculum. I spent a few hours looking through various unit studies and coming up with ideas other than out current Narnia unit. Then I realized the problem wasn't with the curriculum, I just didn't feel like starting back to school yet! We stayed with the Narnia and are back to loving it.
3. I finally am the proud owner of a smartphone. You would think I would finally learn to Tweet more. Maybe next week.
4. My daughter and her fiancee gave me this travel mug for Christmas, in red. It is awesome. Go get one. You won't be disappointed.
5. I am currently reading my very first Jane Austen book, Pride and Prejudice. I have seen many of the movies, but never read the books. The fact that I am reading this one now in order to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies afterward does not make me a bad person. Does it?
6. My husband and I are planning to attend a local steampunk/weird west convention next month. We are currently working on costumes. That should provide much blog fodder, don't you think?
7. I have a renewed love for grapefruit.
8. We're reading The Princess Bride as a read aloud. I accidentally read the 23 page, not quite kid friendly preface first. Oops. Good thing for on-the-go editing.
9. Thirteen is actually a large number and I am rewarding myself with more coffee when I finish this post. I may even go crazy and toss in a hot cocoa packet first. In my handy dandy red travel mug, of course.
10. In case you missed my shameless promotion of my son's band earlier, here is the link to the free single: Beautiful Tuesday- Beauty in the Breakdown. Their first video is being edited now and they are almost finished recording their first album. Good stuff, Maynard.
11. I would love to expand this blog into more than just homeschool products and book reviews. We are a gaming family, video games would be fun. And more of the general family products. And more personal posts. I just have a hard time getting it all done- hence the Not-So-Superness.
12. I'll be reviewing the program Institute for Excellence in Writing this coming May. So far, we are really enjoying it. Andrew Pudewa needs to come with a sarcasm sign. I LOVE that. We're fans of sarcasm, snarkiness, and generally great humor.
13. If you have read this far, I love you. Really, I do. Now leave me a comment and I'm yours forever. (Way to scare off commenters, eh?)

3 People Had Something to Say:
#5 anxious to see if you'll read the others- I am a soldi Austen fan but last week Downton Abbey got me going
Gee Lori- You are going to be kicked out of my club. The secret bloggers who never read Austen. I actually toyed with the thought as I dusted my nightstand on Monday. I picked the police crime thriller instead. I blame it on my environment. There's no one to discuss chick novels with here. Please post a review.
Make sure to post pictures of the costumes! I'm a fan of steampunk as a subculture and love it more, the more I see of it.
Happy TT,
